About our Linux servers

Managed does not mean restricted

eWebGuru has hosted Linux servers in Indian data centres since 2007, and every plan here is fully managed. That covers the initial build, RAID configuration, kernel and sysctl tuning, your web and database stack, security patching, proactive hardware monitoring and physical work at the rack — the part you cannot do from Noida or Nagpur at 2 a.m.

You keep full SSH root access throughout. Managed means you are not the only person responsible when something breaks at 3 a.m.

Need .NET, MSSQL or Windows-only software instead? Our Windows dedicated servers run on the same hardware.

Prices and configurations last updated: October 2026.

Distributions

Linux distributions we deploy

Every distribution below is installed and managed at no extra cost. When a release nears end of life, we flag it and plan the upgrade with you.

AlmaLinux

The default for cPanel/WHM and DirectAdmin, and the natural landing point if you are moving off CentOS. Binary-compatible with RHEL, with a ten-year support lifecycle.

VersionStatus
AlmaLinux 10.2Supported
AlmaLinux 9.8Supported
AlmaLinux 8.10Supported

Rocky Linux

The other RHEL-compatible option we deploy. For most workloads the choice comes down to which one your administrators already know — both have the same long lifecycle and control panel support.

VersionStatus
Rocky Linux 10.xSupported
Rocky Linux 9.xSupported
Rocky Linux 8.xSupported

CentOS Stream

Stream 10 and Stream 9 are supported. Stream 8 is end of life and we will not deploy it on a new build. Still on CentOS 7 or 8? We cross-grade you to AlmaLinux during migration at no charge.

VersionStatus
CentOS Stream 10Supported
CentOS Stream 9Supported
CentOS Stream 8End of life
CentOS 7 / CentOS 8End of life

Ubuntu

The right pick for Docker, Kubernetes, Node.js, Python and most cloud-native stacks. We deploy LTS releases unless you ask otherwise — interim releases move too fast for production.

VersionStatus
Ubuntu 26.04 LTSSupported
Ubuntu 25.10End of life
Ubuntu 25.04End of life

Debian

Minimal footprint and long release cycles — the usual choice for hand-tuned LEMP builds and appliance-style deployments. Debian 11 reaches LTS end of life on 31 August 2026.

VersionStatus
Debian 13 (Trixie)Supported
Debian 12 (Bookworm)Supported
Debian 11 (Bullseye)LTS ends 31 Aug 2026

CloudLinux

Running many sites or users on one server? CloudLinux LVE sets per-account CPU, memory, I/O and process limits, so one runaway site cannot take the whole server down. Licensed separately.

VersionStatus
CloudLinux 10Supported
CloudLinux 9Supported
CloudLinux 8Supported

FreeBSD

Not Linux, but we support it — ZFS, jails and pf still make BSD a strong choice for firewall, storage and mail workloads.

VersionStatus
FreeBSD 15.1In production

Fedora Server

Short support cycles make Fedora a development and CI/CD choice rather than a production one. We will deploy it if you ask — and tell you why AlmaLinux is usually better for anything customer-facing.

Inside the data centre

This is where your Linux server actually lives

Not a stock photo. This is one of our live racks in a Tier-IV CtrlS facility — the same hardware, cabling and cooling your server sits in from the day it is provisioned. When a disk fails at 2 a.m., someone walks to the rack.

  • Tier-IV facilities in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Pune, operated by CtrlS.
  • Data resident in India — INR billing, GST invoices and IST support hours.
  • Hands at the rack — hardware troubleshooting and replacement by our own team.
  • Also outside India — USA and Singapore under the same account.
Hardware support

What happens when hardware fails

Components eventually fail. What matters is how quickly a person reaches the machine, and what happens to your data meanwhile.

~2 hoursTypical replacement time
6 hoursMaximum replacement time
Disk · RAM · boardComponents covered
  1. The failure is detected

A failed disk, bad memory or dead board shows up in our monitoring or in a ticket you raise. Either way it lands with the engineer on shift.

  2. Software or hardware?

Before opening the rack we confirm the fault is physical. A full filesystem, kernel panic or runaway process often looks like dying hardware — those are fixed over SSH.

  3. An engineer reaches the machine

Our data centre team goes to the rack, identifies the failed part and takes a replacement from spares held on site.

  4. The part is replaced

Disk, RAM or motherboard is swapped and the server is brought back up and tested — usually in about two hours, never more than six.

  5. The failed disk stays with your server

We don't bin a failed hard disk. We reattach it to your server as a secondary drive so you can try to pull data off it — which matters if your last backup is not current.

  6. You are updated

We tell you what failed, what was replaced and whether anything needs your attention — a RAID rebuild, a service restart or a backup schedule worth revisiting.

A failed disk is usually not a dead disk — data is often still readable. Keeping it attached is not a substitute for backups, but it has saved customers before.

Add-ons are billed monthly alongside your server. Additional IPs require justified usage under RIR policy. RAM and disk changes are physical upgrades, scheduled with our team.

Our practical recommendation

Hosting many websites with per-account isolation? cPanel/WHM on AlmaLinux with CloudLinux is the combination we deploy most often. Running a single application — a Laravel API, a Django app, a Node service? Skip the panel: a panel-free NGINX or LiteSpeed build leaves more RAM for your app and one less thing to patch. We fully manage servers with no control panel too.

+91 88003 34921 WhatsApp +91 97110 48349 [email protected]

Do I get full root access on a managed Linux server?

Yes. Every Linux dedicated server includes full SSH root access. Fully managed means our team also has access to patch and monitor the machine — it does not restrict what you can do.

How much does a Linux dedicated server cost in India?

From ₹8,500 per month for a Xeon E3-1230 with 32 GB RAM and 960 GB SSD, fully managed. Linux distributions are free, so there is no OS licence on your bill.

Which Linux distribution should I choose?

AlmaLinux for cPanel or DirectAdmin. Ubuntu LTS for Docker, Kubernetes and modern application stacks. Debian for a hand-tuned minimal LEMP build. Not sure? Tell us what you run and we will recommend one.

How long does provisioning take?

Typically under 6 hours, with a maximum of 24 hours depending on configuration and stock. Custom builds needing specific RAID cards or memory may take longer — we tell you the timeline before you pay.

Can I install cPanel, Plesk or DirectAdmin?

Yes, at the monthly licence rates listed above. We pre-install and configure your panel during onboarding. Webmin/Virtualmin and CentOS Web Panel are free, or you can run no panel at all.

Can I install my own custom Linux ISO?

Yes. Send us the ISO and we install it through IPMI. You also get IPMI/KVM access yourself for reboots, BIOS access and OS reloads.

What bandwidth is included?

Every plan includes a 1 Gbps uplink and 10 TB of monthly transfer. Higher allowances are available — tell us your expected volume.

What RAID levels are supported?

RAID 1, RAID 5 and RAID 10, depending on chassis and disk count. 4-bay chassis suit RAID 1; 8-bay and 12-bay chassis support RAID 5 and RAID 10.

Can I upgrade RAM or add disks later?

Yes. RAM upgrades run from ₹3,000/month for 8 GB to ₹1,44,000/month for 512 GB. Extra SSDs are ₹4,000 (960 GB), ₹8,000 (1.92 TB) and ₹12,000 (3.84 TB) a month. Upgrades are scheduled with our team.

How many IP addresses are included?

One dedicated IPv4 address. Additional blocks are available — 5 IPs for ₹1,250/month, 13 for ₹3,250 and 29 for ₹7,250 — with justified usage under RIR policy.

What is the minimum contract period?

30 days.

What happens if hardware fails?

A failed disk, RAM module or motherboard is replaced within 6 hours at most, and generally in about 2. If a hard disk fails, we reattach it to your server as a secondary drive so you can try to recover data from it. See the full process.
